"You don't make sense."
Language, words, grammar, are tools created by humans.
Sometime I construct sentences that do not make sense, simply because they sound pretty, or because the words create a sweet pattern, or they conjure up certain emotions in me.
Why shouldn't I?
I do not serve language. Language serves me. (us).
also sometimes, I feel throwing together random words in an incoherent mix creates an awesome base for blossoming creativity.
lethal sepals mutter snidely, imho.
here's a picture, I'm a being of feeling
[this is the project I did at the end of my Arts&Sciences program at Marianopolis college. it is a sculpture made of trash that does not look like much, but when you shine a light at it from the right angle you can see the image of a scruffy hen. this is somehow related to Oil Culture and The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West. if you want to read a 10 page essay on how these are related just ask...]

Green as well as blue as well as red. Red and green and blue more or less. Red over and above green over and above blue. Red in relation to green in
L'Haine & La Rancune
[as a dancer, movement and dynamism are a great inspiration to me and often incorporated into freestyle sketches. the composition could use some work. I am overall satisfied. 3.5/5!]
Je m'en lave.

regardez! une chaise!
[a chair I designed. it's supposed to be red and shiny... there's a big ol' hole in it. I'll try to CAD it if I succeed in obtaining the necessary software... I will probably need help.]

this before you woke up!
In the frigid, hermetic basement I wait.
My appetite demanding be sate.
"You promised me brunch!" I will say,
"and last night you left me here to fray."

Noises in the kitchen! Silence is my crutch.
In Japan I would write a Haiku.
But I won't because you're a poo! (fah-say)
GAH the hours escape
yet still I see not plate.
WHADOIDOOOOOO?

this is momentary diversion,
lead it not to infelicitous confusion!

Merry Christmas!
first painting EVER! not super pleased with it, but it'll do.
I will probably add some finishing touches but I was too excited about posting it up.
shading on the legs could have been done better, might have chosen different colours if I could redo it, and shoes need more definition, but overall I enjoy it.
I call it:
"6-legged woman; and all that entails."

For all your Cultural Festivals, Montreal...
A leg to stand on.
After banging out a couple of rudimentary sketches of underdeveloped ideas for pieces of furniture this morning, I realized with dismay that my work was nothing short of MEDIOCRE. Mediocre is the place I never want to be. Except in the sciences. I'm pretty mediocre in sciences. M-E-D-I-O-C-R-E. (In my defense, all of those took about 15min.)
Suffice it to say, I need to do some research into this whole furniture business, and NOT in Ikea catalogs! Sooo as I go out to do some last minute Christmas shopping on today the 24th (worst idea Ever) I will probably pick up some kind of magazine at Chapters. Research will be done.
I will be back later today with refreshed sketches, hopefully of consequence.
edit: problems to fix
1) make design that is not only pleasing to the eye, but also FUNCTIONAL. must fulfill some kind of previously neglected need or practicality.
2) do some research into materials
3) do some research into how to make furniture
Vivien, signing off.
